About

Hi, I’m Elize

I’ve walked the Camino Frances, the Camino Portugues, and the Via Francigena. Each one taught me something different about pacing, packing, and what actually matters on the road. This site is built from that experience, not from guesswork. I am also a member of the Mountain Club of South Africa.

Travel is what drives me. Exploring new places, on foot, is where I feel most myself. The Camino is part of a much bigger habit of going and seeing.

I also love telling the story afterwards. Turning a walk into something worth reading is part of the process for me, not an afterthought.

I stay fit and active too, which makes the long days on the trail easier. But it’s the exploring and the stories that pull me back, route after route.

I own Camps Bay Apartments, a short-term rental business in Cape Town. Hospitality is my trade. I know what makes a stay work, and what doesn’t.

ACaminoGuide.com exists because I love this pilgrimage. I want to help other people plan theirs well, without the noise.
